New design ideas to revive tower of old oil factory

At the end of February VKG will invite its employees and the people of Kohtla-Järve to pay a visit to mark the end of the cooperation project between VKG, the Estonian Academy of Art and Tallinn University of Technology wherein students and teachers from the two universities have thought about ways of restoring the tower of the old oil factory on the VKG site.

We should obtain four different solutions. During the work, which started in September, the students managed to find a lot of historical material about Kohtla-Järve and the oil shale industry. Presentation of the ideas will take place in the large hall on the second floor of the VKG head office. The exact time will be specified in mid-January.

The design concepts are based on the winning ideas from a competition held among the people of Kohtla-Järve in 2006.
